In the year 2010 I felt a need to bring some meaning into my sculptures.

I had thought on it a long time and wanted to create a small figure that resembles a human and yet is still simple and plain in style. The idea of how to create this figure came to me in a flash while I was out working around my place.  The name Pick Me Ups came to me along with the how to’s of making the figure.

I immediately started to make many different poses and expressions in these little people, The first one was a figure standing with wide open arms stretched to the sky and head thrown back to represent "Thank You".​ There is "Think Outside the Box" which is a small figure sitting on the edge of a box with one hand on its forehead and the other hand thrust up in the air, giving the message I got it! There is "I Give You my Love" a small figure holding up a red heart as if giving it to another.

These small seven-inch-tall figures express many different emotions and story lines.
